DEALS: Cyber Monday deals for 360 cameras and VR

Here are Cyber Monday deals for 360-degree cameras and VR systems.  I’ve grouped the deals into three categories:
– 360 cameras and accessories
– VR systems
– VR games and apps.

UPDATE 1: Lightning Deal on LG 360 Cam.  $99.99, regularly $199. Here:  LG G5 Friends 360 CAM LG-R105
Only for Amazon Prime members.

UPDATE 2: I added Playstation VR deals (both on the headset and for software)

360 cameras and accessories:

1.  LG 360 Cam: $60 off.

I like this camera for its convenience.  It is easy to carry around with its compact size and hard cover, which doubles as a handle and tabletop stand.  The photo quality and 2k video quality are not bad.  Here is my in-depth review.
Regularly $199, it is on sale for $139.99.  But at 2:40 PST, Amazon Prime members will have early access to an even better Lightning Deal on this camera.

UPDATE: Lightning Deal on LG 360 Cam.  $99.99, regularly $199. Here:  LG G5 Friends 360 CAM LG-R105 Only for Amazon Prime members.

2. Insta360 Nano: $40 off.

This camera has vibrant images and very good video with near-4k quality.  If you have a compatible phone (iPhone 6 or 7 series), this is great for everyday use.  It also has the best 360 livestreaming capability I’ve seen.  Here is my in-depth review
Regularly $199, it is on sale for $159.99.

3. Samsung Gear 360: $20 off.

This is the most affordable 4k 360 camera with very good photo and video quality, and excellent stitching.  However, the app requires a Samsung S6 series, S7 series, or Note 5.  Stitching at 4k requires an S7 or a capable desktop PC.  Here is my in-depth review.
Regularly $349, it is on sale for $329.99.  There is also a gray market import version with no warranty at $309.99.

4. Sandisk Extreme Plus Micro SD 32GB and 64GB
This is a fast Micro SD card, which is useful especially for 4k video.  Some photographers also say that a fast Micro SD card makes the camera less prone to overheating.  Anecdotally, my Keymission 360 can record for 50 minutes with this card, whereas some people have complained that their Keymission topped out at 25 minutes.
Sandisk Extreme Plus 64GB $24.99
Sandisk Extreme Plus 32GB $14.99 (out of stock, but if you order it, Amazon will deliver when available).

VR systems:

1. HTC Vive: $100 off

The HTC Vive is the only VR system designed from the ground up for roomscale VR.  In my opinion, it offers the highest quality VR experience.  Here is my in-depth review.
Regularly $799, it is on sale for $699 (which already includes two motion controllers).

2. Oculus Rift: $100 Oculus Store credit + EVE: Valkyrie

The Oculus Rift’s strength is that when you add the Oculus Touch controllers, it will be able to play not only exclusive Oculus Rift games, but also most games for the HTC Vive.  Here is my in-depth review.
The Oculus Rift is $599.  For Cyber Monday, you’ll get $100 Oculus Store credit and the game EVE: Valkyrie which is worth $59.99.
*If you get the Oculus Rift, don’t forget to get the Oculus Touch, which will include 19 free games and apps.

3. Oculus Rift bundle: save $350.

This bundle includes the Oculus Rift, a VR-Ready PC, plus $100 Oculus Store credit, and EVE: Valkyrie.  Purchased individually, the bundle would cost $1,479:
– Oculus Rift $599
– Cyberpower VR-Ready PC with AMD Radeon RX 480 (4GB) $719.99
– $100 Oculus Store credit
– EVE: Valkyrie $59.99
For Cyber Monday, you can get the bundle for $1,129, a savings of $350.

4. Asus GTX 1060 6GB $249

The GTX 1060 6GB is one of the most inexpensive VR-ready graphics card.  I use a Zotac-branded GTX 1060 6GB for my PC, and it runs games for the Rift and the Vive smoothly.  This version of the GTX 1060 by Asus has two HDMI ports (in addition to DVI and Displayports) so you can plug both your monitor and headset to it via HDMI.  At $249, this is the lowest cost version of the GTX 1060 6GB.  You can get the GTX 1060 3GB for $199, which is also supposed to be VR-ready, but I don’t know if it will be powerful enough for the next generation of VR games.

5.  Playstation VR and Playstation VR Launch Bundle are 15% off at Target

The catch is that it’s out of stock at most Target stores.  But if your local one has it in stock, this is a fantastic deal, especially if you have extra 5% with a Target card.  Here is my in-depth review of the PSVR.

VR games and apps:

1. 265 apps are on sale at the Steam store.  Today is the last day for the Steam software sale for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

2. Oculus Store has a few games on sale:
– Dirt Rally ($39.99 instead of $59.99)
– Edge of Nowhere ($29.99 instead of $39.99)
– The Assembly ($19.99 instead of $29.99)

3. Samsung Gear VR (reviewed here) has a few sales, including Herobound Spirit Champion which is now free.  Not sure if it will remain free after today.

Found any other great Cyber Monday deals?  Pls. share them in the comments!
4.  Playstation VR games are 15% off at Target, both in store and online.
