Ricoh Theta adds interval composite and other features

The Ricoh Theta app and firmware have been updated to add an “interval composite” feature, white balance with specific color temperature, and a “My Settings” custom mode.

The Theta app and firmware were updated to add three new features:

Interval composite: This is like HDR but with time intervals.  The camera takes several photos and ‘retains the bright areas of each shot.’  It can be used for example for taking photos of the night sky and recording star trails.  A tripod is required to use this function.

Color temperature: When choosing the white balance, you can now use a specific color temperature.

My Settings: You can save settings on the smartphone, which will be registered in My Settings, and will be enabled the next time you turn on the camera, even when not connected to a smartphone
