3D VR photos with the Kodak SP360

One of the fun things you can do with a Kodak SP360 4k Dual Pro is to take 3D VR photos and videos.  Here’s an example of a 3D VR photo with the SP360.

To take a 3D VR photo or video, you’ll need a bracket to hold two SP360 cameras side by side.  In this case,  I used a dual flash bracket with 1/4-20 thumbscrews like this one.

Here are the steps:
1.  Take a photo with both cameras at the same time.  I used the SP360 Dual Pro’s included remote to do this.
2.  Convert each photo into an equirectangular photo using the SP360 phone app.
3.  Stack the left camera photo over the right camera photo.  In my case, I used the Enlight app to create a square canvas, then I put the left camera photo on top, and the right camera photo on the bottom.  But you can do this with any image editor.

4.  Upload the image to an image hosting site such as imgur.  You then need to get the image address. Right click and select copy image address.
5.  Use VR view to render the image as a spherical 3D image.

Change the highlighted section to the image address.

Here is the result (you’ll need to use a phone and tap on the cardboard icon to see the 3D version):
