Aerial 360 videos with Insta360 Nano mounted on DJI Mavic Pro drone

Insta360 posted a video of the Insta360 Nano mounted on a DJI Mavic Pro quadcopter drone for aerial 360 videos.

Here is a link to the video on Facebook.
Here is a sample tiny planet video.

Here are the photos of the attachment they used:

To attach the Nano this way, you’ll need the Nano Mount ($30-$40; reviewed here).  The Nano Mount has a 1/4-20 tripod hole in the bottom.

Then you will need to attach the Nano and Nano Mount to a GoPro-style wrist mount or vented helmet mount similar to this (around $12):

It is possible to attach the Nano upside down to get an unobstructed view of the ground.  To do this, you’ll need to hand-launch and hand-catch the Mavic Pro.

If you don’t have a DJI Mavic Pro yet, you can get it from Amazon or B&H Photo, either by itself or as a package with carrying case, extra battery, and other accessories):

A few weeks ago, Insta360 also announced that there would be realtime stabilization added to the Nano (and the Air).  Stabilization requires the Nano to be attached to an iPhone.  You can check out these smartphone tripod adapters (note that the phone may have to mounted facing backwards to allow for space for the Nano to be attached).   You would also have to be careful about mounting your phone and the Nano upside down — you would probably need something else to secure the Nano and phone to the tripod mount.
