Create a guided virtual tour walkthrough with Cupix 3D virtual tour

Cupix (reviewed here), a web-based software that automatically converts 360 photos into a 3D virtual tour, has now added a guided tour walkthrough so that you can ensure that your customers see the best parts of the property.  Here is a demo (if you want to see a short tutorial, start the video from the beginning):

The new feature allows you to select points that will be shown sequentially, similar to a slideshow.   You can jump to any point in the tour – they don’t have to be next to each other.   For each point, you can specify how long to show it, and you can choose the acceleration (ease in, ease out, or ease in/out).

You can choose the direction you face for each point, and if the next point is facing a different direction, the software will automatically pan the view.  However, it doesn’t have panning controls per se but I expect that this can be added easily in the future, along with other options.  The guided tour can be screen captured (e.g. with OBS) to create a video of the virtual tour to be uploaded to YouTube, Facebook or other social media.

I’m really happy with this update because this is a feature that I’ve requested for a long time, and I’m glad they’ve implemented it.  I think it will be especially useful for real estate agents.  You want to make sure that your customers don’t miss the best parts of the property.  This feature lets you do exactly that, while still giving your client the freedom to explore and look around after watching the guided walkthrough.  And it does it all in an easy-to-use interface that requires no programming skills.

By the way, if you’re not familiar with Cupix, check it out.  It is a web-based virtual tour software that lets you “walk around” the virtual tour, not just jump from room to room.  It’s also unique because of how you create the tour — you simply take 360 photos with a 360 camera every few feet, and then upload the 360 photos to the website.  Their software automatically figures out the interconnections between the photos and builds a virtual tour from it, complete with a 3D model that can include a map or a dollhouse view.

  • Hi Mic
It was thanks to your review last year that I discovered Cupix and it certainly is impressive and look forward to Cupix going live with all the costings etc.
But information from Scott at Cupix via your excellent Facebook group re best cameras for using Cupix dimension feature is that the two lens cameras are better than the, four or more lens, expensive cameras because of parallax issues.
Important for AEC use but not so for a high mp tour.
I’ll get the Madventure via your link but look forward to your reviews later in the year on the istar Pulsar and Pisofttech Pilot Era that you have previously mentioned.

    • Hi Brooke. Actually Cupix uses photos from 2D 360 cameras and uses the photos to create 3D models. Since Cupix requires many photos, I think the most practical would be Theta (SC, S or V). https://amzn.to/2GtYzDc
