Insta360 has released app and firmware updates to make their cameras easier and faster to use. The updates are for Insta360 One R and One X2. However, the One X also benefits from some of the updates as well.
The updates are:
- new interface for Insta360 One R
- Quick Flowstate realtime stabilization for One R 4K mod and 1-inch mod
- easier direction lock (for all cameras)
- Quick Reader accessory (available here) for One R and One X2 that enables them to write directly to the Quick Reader. Note: The Quick Reader cannot be attached to the One X. However, the Micro SD card from the One X or any camera can be inserted in the Quick Reader.
- Snap Wizard editing (for all cameras).

Is Quick Reader just the same as other Micro SD card readers?
The Quick Reader has several things that are different from other Micro SD cards:
1. It can fit in the One R’s bracket. The One R uses a bracket to be mounted on a selfie stick. Most Micro SD card readers cannot be inserted into the One R unless they fit it exactly like the Quick Reader
2. It is invisible to the One R and One X2. The two versions of the Quick Reader are specially designed to be invisible to the One R and One X2.
3. One R and One X2 can write directly to the Quick Reader. After recording, just remove the Quick Reader and plug it into your phone. There’s no need to transfer Micro SD cards.
4. The Insta360 app can connect to the Quick Reader and find the correct directory and files automatically.
5. Compatible with both iOS and Android. The Quick Reader can be plugged either into an iPhone with lightning port or an Android phone with Type C connector.
