FLIR Ladybug5+ is a professional 360 camera that uses six 2/3-inch Sony sensors, each of which is about twice as large as a 1/2.3-inch sensor used in consumer cameras and some professional 360 cameras. Here are the key specifications:
– six 2/3-inch Sony IMX264 sensors
– aperture: f/2.5
– field of view: 90% of a full sphere
– video resolution: 8K @ 30fps or 4K @ 60fps
– photo resolution: 8000 x 4000
– IP65 rating for dust and water resistance
– 197 mm diameter, 160 mm height (with lens hoods)
The Ladybug5+ features incredible dynamic range of 12 stops. It can shoot in 8-bit or 12-bit, raw or processed.

This is a GLOBAL SHUTTER camera. That’s hugely important: it allows the camera to be a “motion picture” camera instead of a still camera that shoots many frames per second. Rolling shutter causes a nasty jello effect with 360VR cameras because each lens field can be moving a couple different ways! That jello effect becomes especially visible when you stabilize the footage. With a global shutter, the image stays rigid as you stabilize.
