Can you use the Insta360 One R’s 1-inch mod to create 360 videos? CreatorUp used the Insta360 One R with the Back-Bone Ribcage and Entaniya HAL 250 lens and the result is a very detailed 360 video. Here’s a sample.
The Insta360 One R is a modular 360 camera that can convert from a 360 camera to a 4K action cam to a 1-inch sensor camera. It can even use 3rd party lenses with the Back-Bone Ribcage, a kit for modifying your Insta360 One R 1-inch mod to enable it to use Micro Four Thirds lenses.
CreatorUp’s Hugh Hou used the One R 1-inch mod, Ribcage, and Entaniya HAL 250 lens to capture a 360 video by recording two videos on an Entaniya rig back to back, one horizontally, and one vertically. Then he stitched the two videos with Autopano Video. The result is a very detailed 360 video with excellent dynamic range both for highlights and shadows. Hugh said he especially liked how the flare looks on this combination.
