Ricoh is releasing a limited edition Ricoh Theta SC to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku, a popular virtual singer.
Hatsune Miku is pop culture singing sensation, whose virtual voice is computer generated and who performs as a hologram in her concerts.
To commemorate Hatsune Miku’s 10th anniversary, Ricoh is producing a limited edition Ricoh Theta SC that will have Hatsune Miku’s trademark turquoise color with a special logo and drawing. Â The special Theta will also have a unique shutter sound designed in collaboration with Crypton Future Media, the company behind Hatsune Miku. Â The Hatsune Miku Theta will also have a handmade 100% wool case and will include a dog tag key chain with the serial number of the limited edition Theta.
The limited edition Theta will be available starting September 1 to October 31, and only 3,939 unites will be sold. Â Reader J Luna pointed out that the numbers 3 and 9 can be read in Japanese as san and kyu which sounds like “thank you.” Â For more information on ordering the Hatsune Miku Theta, check out the official minisite.
Thank you very much to J Luna for bringing this to my attention!
For a lack of better works, COOL!
