Coming soon: a special Minions limited edition of the Insta360 Go 2, plus two new accessories: a dive case and a USB power mount. Who are they for?
The thumb-sized Insta360 Go 2 is one of the smallest stabilized HD action cams in the world. Now Insta360 is releasing a new limited edition plus two new accessories.
The new limited edition of the Go 2 is a Minions edition ($329 coming soon to Insta360) that’s being released to commemorate the upcoming movie Minions: Rise of Gru. I think it looks really cool and I’m glad they were able to create this version after totally missing out on creating a Star Wars BB-8 themed version of Insta360 Air several years ago.
Now let’s talk about the accessories. The first is a dive case ($39 direct from Insta360). The Go 2 is waterproof but it can only be submerged up to 4 meters (13 feet). The dive case for the Go 2 has IPX8 waterproofing up to a remarkable 45 meters.
The second new accessory is a USB power mount ($19 from Insta360), which is a mount with a USB Type C port and a GoPro-style finger mount. Who is it for? I think FPV pilots will really appreciate it, especially for long range. Go 2 does have its own internal battery that can last up to 30 minutes, but it gets reduced to 20 minutes in Pro mode (which gives flexibility to change the stabilization mode in post, keyframe it, or change the aspect ratio). And occasionally, my Go 2 is not fully charged. With this accessory, you can mount the Go 2 on your quad and attach an iFlight USB to balance lead adapter to power it from the balance lead of your LiPo battery. This will ensure that your Go 2 won’t run out of battery, even on a long range flight. Please note that this mount will not save any weight – the Go 2 battery is not removable. Note also that the internal memory of the Go 2 is limited to 30 minutes of video. Also, I don’t know yet if this USB port can transfer data or if it’s only for power.
I think the USB power mount is a great idea and is an excellent alternative to the Caddx Peanut, and won’t require soldering and therefore can work with any quad (4S or above). It’s nice to see Insta360 support the FPV community with this accessory.

Got the waterproof case for a project I’ll be shooting soon and that charger is also Great to have to be used in the auto or motorcycle so we can charge the camera without having to put it inside the charge case
I really like the design but I don’t need two same Go 2. Would be nice if there would be an option to give back an old one and buy this new edition for some discount or so on.
