If you’re wondering about which virtual tour website to use, you might also consider self-hosting. Pano2VR is one of the most popular software used by professionals to create custom self-hosted virtual tours for Fortune 100 companies such as Toyota and other clients. You can learn how to use Pano2VR in a free webinar tutorial series starting this Wednesday June 3 at 8am Pacific Time. Update: the replay of the webinar is below.
Many professionals use self-hosted virtual tours for high-end projects. Not only can self-hosting be more economical, but you can also customize the tour with impressive features such as adding motion (for example, a fire place) or interactive elements such as quizzes to engage viewers. It is one way you can distinguish your virtual tour services in an increasingly crowded field.
One challenge with self-hosting is that you’ll need to learn desktop software. But now you can learn how to use Pano2VR, one of the most popular virtual tour software, for free in a webinar series that starts this Wednesday. The webinar is being taught by Pano2VR’s own Martin Hopkins, and questions are encouraged. To get the most out of the seminar, you should download the free trial version of Pano2VR beforehand.
Here’s a sample that I created with Pano2VR, self-hosted here on 360rumors.com. By the way, I’m working on a class that will show another way of getting ahead of your competition through excellent image quality with an efficient and effective workflow. The HQ method class will be posted here.

HOW TO SELF-HOST YOUR VIRTUAL TOUR
There are several ways to self-host. First, Pano2VR can be self-hosted by uploading the output folder via FTP to your website.
Another way is to upload it to WordPress, which is the method Martin showed in the webinar. With this method, you need to install the free Garden Gnome Package plugin into your wordpress. From Pano2VR you can export the tour as a Garden Gnome Package, which is a single file, which you then upload to your WordPress through the Add Media tab. You can embed the tour with a shortcode or if you’re using the Gutenberg editor, by inserting a block.
Hi Mic.
What camera did you use for the Hilton virtual tour? The image quality is great, much better than I can get with my Theta V.
Cheers, Justin
Thanks Justin! The one I’m using for the pano2vr demo was shot with an “average” DSLR setup (actually, a mirrorless camera). I’ll have a complete tutorial for that, but meanwhile if you’re interested, you can check out this basic one: https://360rumors.com/panoramic-head-tutorial/
Hi Mic.
Good day to you, do you have any video instruction on how to host the virtual tour on my website?
Thank you
Hi Mxl. Do you mean a self-hosted tour or a virtual tour created on a web-based virtual tour software?
How did you get your tour to be full screen like that? When using the garden gnome plugin the page looks like a blog post. I just want it to be full screen like yours. Thanks in advance.
