I’ve been trying to get a PS5 for the longest time, in part because I’m looking forward to PSVR 2. But unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that PS5 is incredibly hard to find unless you’re willing to buy it from scalpers. Today I was able to get one, direct from Sony.
If you’re like me then you know that Sony sells PS5 directly from time to time. I’ve registered previously and have been able to get on a queue more than 5 times, but each time I was unable to buy one. Today, I got on another queue and was told that the stock ran out. But when I clicked on the invitation again, it let me on the queue again and I saw the PS5 Horizon Forbidden West bundle in stock!
The bundle includes:
- PS5 Console (disc version with 825GB. There is also a bundle with the digital version but it was out of stock).
- Horizon Forbidden West full game voucher
- DualSense™ wireless controller
- HDMI® cable
- AC power cord
- USB cable
- Printed materials
- ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game. PS5™ console may need to be updated to the latest system software version. Internet connection required.)
The catch is that you need a PSN ID (but subscription is not required). The other weird thing is that when I chose the normal delivery, I could not enter my credit card number. It was only after I changed the Express Shipping that I was able to enter my credit card number and checkout.
If it’s out of stock, you can also try here. It says invitation required in order to weed out scalpers.
UPDATE: it is real. I ordered it on July 28 and I received my PS5 on July 30 (Express Shipping).
