PTGui 12 has been released, almost two and a half years after the release of PTGui 11, with major improvements.
PTGui is the industry standard stitching software for 360 photos for both DSLRs and 360 cameras. Version 12 adds many improvements, most notably automatic seam placement (available only in PTGui Pro 12), which adjusts the seam line automatically to avoid stitching errors. It is almost like automatic masking, and when I turn it on, I hardly have to do any masking at all (except for the tripod). It’s an incredible time saver.
Another significant improvement is the ability to adjust your photos within PTGui, including exposure, white balance, tone curve, and other adjustments. Personally, I prefer to use other software for editing my photos, but the option to do that within PTGui is now available. The complete list of improvements is here.
Although PTGui is widely regarded by 360 photographers as the best stitching software, it has a complicated interface and can be intimidating. If you want to learn how to use PTGui 12 to get the best stitching as well as other techniques to get the best quality virtual tour photos, check out Virtual Tour Edge 2.0 for DSLRs and Virtual Tour Edge HQ Method for 360 cameras. During the launch period for VTE2.0, you can get a 20% discount on VTE2.0 and get HQ Method for free.
hi , there is Mercator Projection in the PTGui. Is there any android app having similar function?
Starting to look over processed and a little fake, taking away from a quality HDR 360 image.
Thanks for the feedback, John. FWIW, a lot of people prefer the flash version.
I’m with John.
Have you tried stitching Panono images with this latest vefsion? Any luck?
Hi Reza. Yes PTGui can stitch Panono but only in wide spaces like outdoors. In spaces like a hotel room for example, it can stitch Panono but with a lot of stitching errors.
how about Panono HDR 3 Shoots.
Is it possible to stitch Panono HDR with 3. party Software?
The Panono Cloud Results are often quite pefect, so i use it in most cases 😉
Yes it is possible to use PTGui for Panono although it will have many stitching errors indoors due to the large parallax.
Mic, any improvements stitching Panono’s images with this version? if so, minor or significant?
Right now when trying http://www.ptgui.com i get an ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
It was working some times ago.
Really strange. Anyone with this problem?
Hi Sergio. It is loading normally for me. Maybe you can try reloading the page?
Now it works, I discovered the problem. It was such a stupid thing that I can’t tell anyone 😉
OK great job solving it!
