Do you want a quick release mount for your 360 camera so that you can attach it to or remove it from your tripod quickly? Check out the Kupo adapter. It can be attached to any selfie stick, monopod, or tripod to add a quick release mount. To release the adapter all you have to do is pull down on its sleeve like a drill (in fact the bottom looks like a hex shank of a drill bit).
Unlike other quick release mounts, the Kupo is about as narrow as a mini ballhead, which means that it won’t appear in the nadir for many 360 cameras.
The Kupo adapter is available here from B&H Photo. Additional attachments are available for purchase.
What materials is this assembly made of? If the metal is carbon steel, then forget about ever getting it wet. Hopefully it is stainless (preferably 316).
Hi Kent. Sorry i just saw that your question relates to a different article than i previously thought. i dont know the material they used for this quick release connector.
best regards, mic
I have tested this one and also 2 others for my Theta Z1 (and yes even older Panono 🙁 , in terms of firm connection with zero play and also in terms of the build quality, my own experience is this:
#1 Q-top (www.q-top.eu), most robust and most expensive (www.qtop.eu)
#2 Zhiyun, my top choice, best price-performance and what I use now: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1444740-REG/zhiyun_tech_gmb_c81e_transmount_quick_setup_kit.html
#3 Kupo
Just my 2 cents

oh I forgot this one:

They are rock solid, at least the ones I have used. invisible in the nadir and very well built.
Hope it helps.
Cheers
