Ricoh Theta SC2 for Business is a new variant of the affordable Theta SC2 with two new features specifically for virtual tours.
Here is a comparison and review of the Theta SC2 for Business and the Theta SC2, by 360 photographer and 360 Rumors contributor Yuqing Guo.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THETA SC2 VS THETA SC2 FOR BUSINESS?
First, the default photo mode for SC2 for Business is the new “Room” preset, which is an HDR mode optimized for photos of rooms and car interiors.
Second, it has a new self-timer mode called “time shift,” which is designed to enable the user to take a photo without the user being visible in the shot. With this feature, the user can take half of a 360 photo, move to the other side, and take the other half of the photo. The user will then not be visible in the stitched 360 photo.
These features, together with the Theta series’ in-camera stitching, could make the Theta SC2 for Business the easiest 360 camera for virtual tours.
Pricing and availability for Theta SC2 for Business have not yet been announced. However, in China, the price for Theta SC2 for Business is $50 lower than the price for Theta SC2. I’ll update this page when that information becomes available.
Mmm and I just bought the insta 360 one R with virtual tours on my mind…
I hope to not be dissapointed and wanting to have this sc2 in a future.
Hi Sergio. The One R could be very good for 360 photos because of its 9-shot HDR mode. As for this timeshift feature, I can suggest it to insta360.
Does anyone know how possible some of these features could be added to the Z1
Great question. Actually, the Time Shift feature is available via a plugin for Theta Z1 and Theta V here: https://pluginstore.theta360.com/plugins/com.theta360.timeshiftshooting/
I just updated the camera firmware to version 1.20 but I don’t see any new presets. Where do you get information about them because these would be useful?
Hi Radek. I received the info from Ricoh. I hope they will release the preset soon.
If the price of the SC2 for Business is below $ 290, it would be a reasonable option in the real estate industry.
In my experience with Z1, time shift mode is a useful feature.
SC2 is 299.
I think so too!
Hello
Any news when this camera can be bought…? I’ve looked everywhere but no sellers yet.
Considering the regular SC2 and SC2 for Business for real estate virtual tours (photos only ) .
I’m also considering the Theta V – which accepts plugins (but is much older)
Hard choice.. Save a little money and but the newer camera (SC2) or buy the older Theta V with plugins (which maybe I won’t miss or need) ….
Thanks.
Theta SC2 is available here: https://amzn.to/2W73oOf
Is the sc2 and sc2 for business 2 different cameras?
yes they are different cameras.
Hey Mic… Where can we get the SC2 for Business? Virtual tours for business is my only concern 🙂 Thank you by the way for all the hard work:)
THanks Nathan! It’s not yet available so far.
Hi, so what happens if I take photo in room preset without tripod. Say I want to shoot casually and don’t have patience for changing to auto mode. will I get ghosting effect.
I think timeshift is awesome and am really considering this model. but sometimes I want go casual.
btw, it’s not cheaper than SC2 in china!
