TECHNIQUE: How to level the horizon in 360 photos and videos with Insta360 Air app

Here’s a quick demonstration and tutorial of one of the cool features in the Insta360 Air app: horizon correction.

If the horizon is not level in your 360 photo or video, looking around in the photo or video will be disorienting.  There are software for leveling the horizon in 360 photos, such as Hugin (see tutorial here).  There are also software that can fix it for 360 videos, such as Skybox Mettle and Autopano Video, but they are a little expensive.

One of Insta360 Air’s cool features is that it has a horizon correction tool built into the app.  It works for both 360 photos and 360 videos.  Check out this video:

If you’ve ordered Insta360 Air, rest assured that your camera’s on the way to you, and several people have already received their cameras!  And if you haven’t preordered Insta360 Air, don’t worry, it will still be available on Amazon in March!
