Virtual Tour Edge update: sharpening and denoising

Which software should you use for sharpening and denoising your virtual tour photos?  I’ve updated Virtual Tour Edge 2.0, HQ Method, and HQ Lite to include a new video tutorial that shows the advantages and disadvantages of three software for sharpening and denoising: Topaz Gigapixel AI, Topaz Sharpen and Topaz Denoise.

Whether you use a 360 camera or a DSLR or mirrorless camera, you need to sharpen and denoise your photo to get the best results.  Most photo editing software such as Photoshop, Lightroom or Affinity Photo have sharpening and denoising tools.  But you can get better results in less time with third party software such as from Topaz.

Topaz Gigapixel vs Sharpen vs Denoise

Topaz produces three photo editing software: Gigapixel, Sharpen and Denoise.  All three can sharpen and denoise images.  But they each do it in a very different way, and they each have respective advantages and disadvantages.  In this new tutorial, I show the differences between each one and show the circumstances when each software performs its best.

What is HQ Lite, HQ Method and VTE 2.0?

HQ Lite is a short series of tutorials that specific skills designed for quick results while still getting excellent quality. Volume 1 is for fast and powerful editing (for 360 cameras, or DSLR/mirrorless cameras).  Here is a sample photo shot on Theta Z1 and edited with HQ Lite.

HQ Method is a complete course that shows you how to use 360 cameras to take seamless photos with excellent quality.  Here is a sample photo shot on XPhase and edited with some of the editing techniques from HQ Method.

Virtual Tour Edge 2.0 is a complete course that shows how to get the best quality 360 photos, while taking less time to edit, by using a DSLR or mirrorless camera.  You’ll also learn to use techniques to create amazing shots that are not possible on a 360 camera.  Here is a sample photo shot on a mirrorless camera and edited with techniques from VTE 2.0.  When I shoot virtual tours, I almost always use the techniques from this class.
