Detu Max, the most affordable 8K 3D 360 camera (estimated $3500), is launching very soon. I’m meeting with Detu’s CEO tomorrow, so if you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below! For the record, one of my questions will be: can you give a special discount to 360 rumors readers 😀
-I see the mention of 3D modeling… would like to see a finished sample of their solution.
-For kickstarter, it says estimated shipping date of september this year…. Is that a realistic expectation or is it the typical kickstarter where we won’t see it till september NEXT year
-I’m a photo guy, so curious what options does it have for HDR? (Can we choose the # of shots, ev spacing, etc)
-How is the workflow when creating a virtual tour? Ipad connected via wifi… Is it easy and simple or cumbersome?
-What are the big features of the app?
-Is there an advantage to using their own tripod versus a normal tripod?
-How well matched are the lenses? I know on a lot of 360 cameras different lenses will have slight color shifts… Does the camera correct for this?
-Whats the word on GPS?
-Are you working on getting it street view certified?
great questions! i’ll find out!

-Kickstarter says shipping in september, is that for sure or is it the typical kickstarter where we won’t see it for 2 more years?
-Is there a real advantage to using their tripod specifically?
-How is the workflow with creating a 3D space tour on their solution?
-Would like to see a finished sample of their 3D space tour.
yes they are testing street view as we speak! i’ll find out the answers to the other great questions!
Yes Please do ask him about discount. If they offer then I’m planning to buy.
Hi Mic Thanks as usual. More general questions really….. I think they are going to be street view auto ready does that mean it will replace actual google street view imagery (see outside) as the blue line? Pros/Cons of either model vis a vis the pisofttech and TE720 which both look to be launching shortly?
Things I would like to know:
Mobile phone/OS compatibility (iPhone, Android [if so which])
Desktop/Laptop Software for stitching/editing
Water/Dust Proof
Workflow (how it would look like)
Storage (SSD, MicroSD, SD, Internal)
Interfaces ?
Will it be WiFi/BT/Wired network
Battery Time (battery will be replaceable)
Will it use a fan?
External Mic ?
Internal stitching vs external stitching
How many gyroscopes will it use ? (for stabilization)
will it came with free stitching sw like Insta360 or would it be subscription based line
Same questions.
– Is the software complete at delivery day or still a kind of Beta?
– How is the low light footage?
– Did they made some crash Tests?
What the ‘ears’ are between each stereo pair of cameras?
The fin-like structure at the top and what look like holes at the bottom (and perhaps the ‘ears’ on the side), AND it being an aluminum case could mean a lot of heat build-up to deal with while avoiding a fan. Is this the case?
Info I can find says 60 minute record time on a 4800 mAh battery. If they can do 8k for 60 minutes on that size battery, they’ve done something mind-blowing. What’s the catch? What have I missed?
For comparison:
Rylo = 830 mAh (60min)
GoPro Fusion = 2,620 mAh (~70min)
Vuze = 3,800 mAh (~100min)
For perspective:
Samsung Galaxy 8 = 3,000 mAh

Did you get to find out some answers?
typing them out right now… standby
1. Is it passive cooling?
2. Can record and take pictures during charging?
3. Time of continuous recording (without swapping battery, memory card, overheating in room temperature)?
4. Linux support (stitching software) at least as AppImage application.
5. Minimal distance (stitching issues).
Please don’t remind me as this was the biggest waste of money I ever spent on a non-supported camera and it still hurts.
