Is your iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro overheating? There’s a good chance that it’s being caused by Instagram. Apparently, if you upgrade to iOS 17 and you use the Instagram app, the phone will start heating up. iPhonedo discovered this for iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Here’s his video:
Not only does the Instagram app cause your phone to overheat, but it will also drain your battery needlessly.
The long-term solution is for Instagram to fix whatever bug is causing this issue, but for now the workaround is to turn on the low power mode, which mitigates the problem. iPhonedo also recommends turning off background refresh.
I’m still waiting for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. When I get it, I’ll test this problem and solution.
i have the 15 Pro Max and instagram installed – all fine for me since day 0
Thanks Michael. Do you use low power mode?
nope – all one what this fine device ships
i activated this via icloud backup from my 14 Pro Max
but i use instagram only for watching content – not creating – maybe this cause the issue?
all one = all ON , sorry ;.-)Mic
In iPhoneDo’s video, all he did was stay on his Profile screen. He wasn’t even viewing anything.
