If you haven’t tried VR yet, it’s difficult to appreciate how realistic it can feel (even on games with cartoonish graphics). However, mixed reality videos are probably the best way of conveying how it feels.
To that end, Marcel Pfister created a mixed reality video comparing the experience of driving a Porsche Carrera 911 S in the VR game Assetto Corsa versus driving the same Porsche in real life:
I think it’s pretty amazing that the same experience is available to consumers simply through a commercially available headset such as the Oculus Rift (which is what Marcel used), the HTC Vive, or even the Playstation VR. 😀
