A couple of months ago, I posted about the Dlodlo V1, an ultrathin VR headset. The V1 is now available on Kickstarter.
Here are the specifications:
- Resolution: 2400 x 1200
- Field of view: 105 degrees
- Refresh rate: 90 fps
- Weight: 90 grams
Here’s a video about the Dlodlo V1:
The V1 can be connected to a PC or can be connected to a dedicated control module called the D1, which looks like a smartphone, for untethered operation:
The V1 has no external sensors and instead uses a 9-axis IMU. This seems to suggest it can track head rotation but has no positional tracking capability (i.e., it can’t track x, y or z movement), although Dlodlo doesn’t clearly say the extent of its tracking capability.
The V1 MSRP is $559, with an early bird price of $529 and delivery expected in April 2017. There is also a set with both the V1 and D1 for $888. Here is their Kickstarter page. Here is their official website.
