Insta360 Go 3 vs X3: BLOWN AWAY (single lens mode and reframed 360 comparison)

Insta360 Go 3 vs X3: why I was shocked

How does the Insta360 Go 3 compare to the Insta360 X3?  I hadn’t done a comparison before because they are different categories of cameras.  But since people wanted to know, I did a side by side comparison.  And I was shocked at the result,

I thought that the X3 would have just the same quality as the Go 3, and with its third person view, it would be the clear choice. But as it turns out, the Go 3 has much better image quality.

In the video, I also show how you get both the image quality of the Go 3 and the 3rd person view of the X3.

Edit: after I shared my video, some viewers asked to see a comparison between Go 3 and X3’s single lens mode.  Here is the comparison.  When comparing these images, please take a look not only at the text but also at the trees in the background.

  • If you look at the trees in the background, the Go 3 has far more detail than the X3.
  • However, if you look at the text, the X3 is almost similar to the Go 3.  That’s because the Go 3 has a longer focal length and narrower field of view, which means it has a longer focal distance than the X3.  Because the text was close to the camera, it is more in focus with the X3 than the Go 3, which partially compensated for the difference in detail.

In the end, however, the Go 3 is definitely more detailed than the X3.

  • This article is in the category “360 Camera Reviews” yet it reviews a non-360 camera.
Come on, give us real 360 news! Perhaps we can have a new category: Cool new 360° content?
Personally, i see more and more people getting on board the 360° train.

    • Hi Sven. It includes a comparison with X3, so a 360 camera is included. And as for 360 news, if there is any that I can disclose, I will post about it for sure 😀
