GoPro Fusion (reviewed here) is currently on sale for $249 at Best Buy (not an affiliate link)! Should you buy it or the Insta360 One X (reviewed here)? If you haven’t seen it, here’s an updated comparison as of 2019 (it’s the same video I posted during the Insta360 Amazon Prime Day sale):
You may be wondering why Best Buy is discounting the GoPro Fusion now. It’s possible that they’re anticipating the next GoPro Fusion.
Meanwhile, Best Buy also has Rylo (reviewed here) on sale for $299. Rylo has very good image quality, and at its new 5.8K mode, its image quality is on par with One X and Fusion except in low light (it has less dynamic range in shadows). The problem is that to use the 5.8K mode, you need to render the video on a Mac. There is no stitcher for Windows, and while it does have an Android and iOS app, they can’t render at 5.8K.
GoPro.com is also selling it for the same price. So it is not just Best Buy.
And yes I am thinking GoPro will be releasing a new camera soon.
