HTC announced a new service that will enhance print media with a form of augmented reality.
Called Vivepaper, it makes use of the HTC Vive’s built-in camera to recognize scan codes on print media such as magazines. The Vive can then display related content such as a 360 photo about the article that the user is reading. Vivepaper will also work on compatible smartphones when used with a Google Cardboard viewer that does not cover the phone’s built-in camera.
